Solar Panel Installation Leatherhead

It depends on your roof size, roof surface orientation, daily energy usage and how much electricity you want to generate. Most Leatherhead homeowners find that a system of 8 to 16 solar PV panels is enough to cover a large portion of their energy needs, but every property is different.

At PSC Electrical, we provide consultation where our expert team assesses your property and designs a solar panel system that matches your specific energy use. We take the guesswork out so you get the right number of panels for peak efficiency and long-term savings on your energy bills.

Yes, solar panels work even on cloudy or overcast days. Solar PV panels rely on daylight rather than direct sunshine, so they continue to generate clean energy throughout the year. Of course, energy generation is higher on sunny days, but modern solar PV systems are designed to perform reliably in all typical UK weather conditions.

We always offer honest advice about what to expect from your solar energy generation across the seasons, so you can plan your energy use with confidence and start seeing real reductions in your electricity bills.

A standard solar panel installation takes between 1 to 3 days depending on the size of the system, your roof type and whether you are also adding battery storage. Larger solar systems or those that include a battery storage system or EV charging points may take a little longer, but we always keep you informed at every stage.

Our solar panel installers in Leatherhead work efficiently and safely to minimise disruption to your daily routine, ensuring your solar installations are completed to the highest standard without unnecessary delays.

Absolutely. By pairing your solar panels with a solar battery storage solution, you can store excess energy generated during the day and use it in the evening or during a power cut. This means you rely less on the grid, reduce your rising energy costs and move closer to true energy independence.

We install a range of battery storage solutions, including the Tesla Powerwall, to suit different energy needs and budgets. Our team will advise you on the best battery storage system for your property so you can make the most of every unit of solar energy your system produces and even export surplus energy back to the grid.

In most cases, solar panel installation on your roof falls under permitted development, meaning you will not need to apply for planning permission for solar panels. However, there are exceptions if your property is in one of the local conservation areas, is a listed building or if you are considering ground mounted systems that may require approval from your local authority.

We understand the local knowledge needed to navigate these requirements in Leatherhead and the wider south east. When you get in touch with PSC Electrical, we guide you through any planning considerations as part of our consultation, so you can move forward with your solar panel installation with complete peace of mind.
